More than 90% of staff and volunteers would recommend Ashgate Hospice as a place to volunteer or work.
In an effort to help the hospice continue to make progress and find ways to improve, the hospice regularly invites staff and volunteers to complete Pulse Surveys.
Findings, published in March, reveal that 91% of staff and volunteers would encourage others to apply for a role at the hospice.
This figure has increased significantly among workers over the past four years, compared to 2021 when 80% of paid staff and 93% of volunteers voted the same way.
Meanwhile, an incredible 99% of staff and volunteers said they would be happy to recommend the hospice to their family and friends as a place to receive care.
Laura Gee, Organisational Development Lead at Ashgate Hospice said: “We’re really proud of the results from our latest Pulse Survey, it’s fantastic to see how satisfied our staff and volunteers are.
“With 91% saying they’d recommend Ashgate as a place to work or volunteer, it shows just how much our people value the supportive and inclusive atmosphere we’ve worked hard to create at the hospice.
“This feedback inspires us to keep improving – making sure our people feel appreciated and have all the tools and training they need to thrive in their roles.
“As part of our Here for the Future strategy we’re ambitious for our people, continuing to develop our positive and inclusive work environment so that everyone – staff and volunteers, both now and in the future – can be proud to be part of Ashgate Hospice.”
The most recent poll saw 76% of staff and 37% volunteers take part in the 10-part questionnaire.
This response rate increased from 2024 when 60% of staff and 23% of volunteers completed the survey.
Results also showed 79% of staff and 86% of volunteers felt that they receive the necessary training and development to work and carry out their roles well.
