Ashgate Hospice > Derbyshire health and social care professionals invited to Ashgate Hospice open day

Health and social care professionals across Derbyshire are being invited to attend an open day at Ashgate Hospice.

The hospice is offering the opportunity to learn more about its services, including how professionals can work alongside its clinical teams to provide support for patients with life-limiting conditions.

The drop-in event will take place on 16 June between 11am and 3pm at the hospice’s Day Services unit in Old Brampton, Chesterfield.

It will aim to improve understanding of the referral process and highlight the support Ashgate can offer from the early stages of illness through to end of life care.

The open day will include guided tours of Ashgate’s newly refurbished Day Services area and Inpatient Unit, as well as the hospice gardens.

Claire Shaw, Director of Care Services-Anne Walker, Chief Executive at Ashgate Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming colleagues from across the health and social care sector to our open day.

“This is a valuable opportunity to strengthen our partnerships and demonstrate how Ashgate can support patients much earlier in their illness.

“By working together, we can ensure people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

“We’re particularly proud to showcase our newly refurbished Day Services and to share what being rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC means for the quality of care we provide across North Derbyshire.”

Visitors will be able to speak directly with the hospice’s clinical teams and gain insight into how Ashgate works in partnership with NHS and community services to deliver patient-centred care closer to home.

Attendees will also have the chance to explore how timely referrals to Ashgate’s range of services – including the Inpatient Unit, Palliative Care Specialist Nurses, and community support teams – can make a significant difference to patients and the people important to them.

Ashgate Hospice was recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and staff will be on hand throughout the day to discuss what this means for the quality of care provided and how the hospice is aligned with the NHS’s 10-year plan to integrate care at a local level.

The event is open to all professionals working in health, social care, and the voluntary sector in Derbyshire.

There is no need to book a specific time slot, but attendees are encouraged to register their interest in advance to help the hospice plan for parking and refreshments. Free onsite parking is also available.
