We’re proud to support older workers

At Ashgate Hospice, we believe in the value and importance of older workers. That’s why we’ve joined the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme for UK employers committed to improving work for people in their 50s and 60s. We’re dedicated to helping them thrive in a multigenerational workforce.

Here’s how we support older workers at Ashgate Hospice:

  • Continuous professional development: We provide ongoing training for everyone, regardless of age. Last year, seven workers over 50 completed a workplace apprenticeship.
  • Flexible working policies: We accommodate part-time work and support those with caring responsibilities, like looking after older relatives.
  • Menopause policy and support: We offer dedicated support for staff and managers.
  • Inclusive recruitment processes: Our hiring practices are accessible and welcoming to all.
  • Health and wellbeing support: We offer a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of our employees and volunteers.
