Sign up and take on a Virtual Sparkle Challenge!

The Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge is an event that you are able to do from the comfort of your own home, within your local area or anywhere that you please.

We are asking you to walk, run, cycle or dance in support of Ashgate Hospice. Don’t let this limit you though. You can do whatever Sparkle challenge that works for you, as long as you are able to make it pink and get sponsored!

The best thing about Virtual Sparkle is that it’s fun for all the family! So please do spread the word and let people know that no matter how young, old, or furry (yes, dogs can take part too), they can sign up to the Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge today. Click here to sign up!

Frequently asked questions

Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge
Where does the Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge take place?

It’s up to you!  We just ask you to Sparkle safely and responsibly in support of the hospice.

Who can take part in the Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge?

Absolutely anyone! The best thing about Virtual Sparkle is that it’s fun for all the family! So please do spread the word and let people know that no matter how young, old, or furry (yes, dogs can take part too), they can sign up to Virtual Sparkle today!

When is the Ashgate Virtual Sparkle Challenge?

We would encourage you take on your Virtual Sparkle Challenge in the month of July as this is the official Sparkle season! However, if you want to take on your Sparkle challenge at a different time of year, that isn’t a problem. If you have signed up and collected your Sparkle items (or have requested to receive them through the post), you will have everything to virtually Sparkle at a time that suits you best.

Do I have to do my own 10km walk?

Put simply, no! We‘re asking you to walk, run, cycle or dance. As long as it’s a challenge for you and will inspire your friends and family to sponsor you, that’s fine! We also encourage you to think outside the box if you can and come up with other fun, safe and enjoyable activities!

Whether it’s 10k bike ride or a disco in your kitchen to up your step count, just make sure you wear those sparkly bunny ears and your pink Sparkle T-shirt.

How will I get my Sparkle T-shirt, bunny ears and medal?

Your Sparkle T-shirt, bunny ears and medal will be available to collect from the hospice. If you would like yours posting to you, an additional charge of £2.95 will apply (P&P) – you can select this option when signing up to the event.

If your preference is to collect it from the hospice, an email will be sent to you in due course, to arrange collection. If you have any queries, please email the Events Team at events@ashgatehospice.org.uk or call us on 01246 567250.

How do I set up a fundraising page?

Once you sign up to the event, you will be asked whether you want to create an online fundraising page (to sign up to the event, please click here). Once you have selected yes to creating one, you can personalise your page and share it with your friends and family.

If you have any issues setting up your online fundraising page, please get in touch via events@ashgatehospice.org.uk

How much do I need to raise?

There is no minimum sponsorship amount, but we’d encourage you to set yourself a target to add to your challenge. By fundraising for the hospice, you will be helping to ensure that Ashgate Hospice will be here for the future so that we can continue to support the people in our community who need us the most.

Everyone who raises £100 or more and hands in their sponsorship money by Monday 12th September 2022, will be entered into a prize draw to win an exciting prize.

What will my £7 registration fee go towards?

Even though your participation won’t be at the physical event, included in your £7 is a Sparkle T-shirt, bunny ears, a medal and fundraising support. Your £7 will go towards covering thecosts, but it’s your sponsorship that will really make a difference to patients and their families across North Derbyshire and the High Peak and Dales.
