Ashgate Hospice > Monthly Challenge

Start a new month on a high by setting yourself a challenge to raise money for Ashgate Hospice. You could take this on alone or set up a group challenge by involving friends, family or colleagues.  

Choose your challenge  

The main thing to remember when you are choosing your challenge is it will be personal to you. When those supporting you know that you’re pushing yourself and taking on a difficult challenge, it will help boost your sponsorship. We have included a few ideas below, but please don’t feel limited by these. You could commit to give something up for the month or commit to doing something every day that you wouldn’t have done before.  

Give it up  

  • Give up meat and go vegetarian or, if you fancy an even tougher challenge, go vegan. 
  • Are you known for your sweet tooth? Give up your favourite sweet treat whether that be cake, chocolate, sweets or biscuits. 
  • If you’re more of a savoury snacker, you could give up your favourite savoury treats, such as crisps or pies. 
  • Could you give up drinking alcohol for the month? 

Do something daily 

  • Do you feel like you don’t move enough in the day? Commit to completing at least 10,000 steps a day. 
  • Is running or jogging something you want to try? Challenge yourself to run or jog a certain distance each day. 
  • Challenge yourself to do 100 reps of one of the many exercises you might dread. For example, you might do 100 burpees or press ups every day for the month.  

Please don’t feel limited to these suggestions. Let your imagination run wild and come up with your own unique challenge.
