Why we need your support
Shopping with us or donating items for us to sell helps fund our compassionate care.
By letting us know about your fundraising event, our fundraising team will know that you are making plans to raise funds for Ashgate Hospice. This means we can get in touch with you to see if you need any help or support. For example, we can:
If you are organising your own event, think about where you’ll be doing it. Will it be at your home or do you need to look for a space that you can hire, such as a local village hall? If you are planning your own fundraising challenge such as running, swimming or cycling, consider places such as your local gym or outside in your local area.
Whether you are wanting people to attend an event, sponsor you or buy a raffle ticket, the best thing you can do is spread the word. Tell your family, friends and colleagues about your fundraising. Make the most of social media too. If you have set up a JustGiving page it’s really easy to share this on Facebook or email the link to colleagues.
If you need to source prizes or advertise an event, it is important to allow enough time to do this. Think about who can help you if you feel it is too much for you to do – could family or friends get involved too?
You’ve done all the preparation, so it’s important that you enjoy your fundraising. Take some photos that you can share afterwards to let everyone know the amount raised and how it went.
Any money raised through your JustGiving page will come to the hospice automatically when your page closes. If you have collection buckets or tins, cash or cheques, please bring these to our Fundraising Hub on Storforth Lane Trading Estate in Hasland. Or you could donate the money you raised through our website.
