We’re thrilled to share that our Day Services will be refurbished! This upgrade is all about enhancing the experience for our patients and visitors at the hospice in Old Brampton, ensuring everyone receives the highest level of care and support.
Here’s what’s in store:
Work begins late September. During this time, our Day Services will be temporarily relocated, and there will be some adjustments to the services offered.
For more details about changes to services, please visit our Day Services page.
Our new Day Services and outpatient clinics will open again in April 2025. Our Main Reception has now re-opened and any visitors can enter the hospice building through this entrance.
We’re excited about this project and can’t wait to share the progress with you. Keep checking this page for updates!
The part of the building where Day Services is located was built in 2003. In the 20 years since it was built, it has seen little update since then. The decor remains the same, and the one large space that the room offers means that we can’t run more than one session at a time due to noise disturbances. There is a lack of storage, and the kitchen area isn’t fit for purpose and takes up much-needed space.
Here’s what the refurbishment means for you:
More activities at once
The new layout will allow us to run group activities, drop-in sessions, and other services simultaneously, making it easier for everyone to join in and benefit.
Exciting new sessions
With a refreshed space, we’re looking forward to offering new sessions such as Tai Chi, yoga, and other therapies that promote overall wellbeing.
Extended opening hours
We’ll be open for two more days each week, which means we can support more people through Day Services, providing even more care and support.
Improved environment and function
The current setup isn’t quite up to modern standards, so we’re making it more versatile and functional. This includes a new kitchen and serving counter for added comfort and convenience.
A supportive space
We’re adding a new quiet room for private conversations and moments of calm. This space will be perfect for sensitive discussions and personal reflection.
Better accessibility
We want everyone to have access to our services, so we’re adding wheelchair accessible toilets with a hoist and changing table to ensure everyone’s needs are met.
We’re excited to share the new space with you soon! In the meantime, keep an eye out for regular updates here or follow us on social media.
“The refurbishment will enable us to offer a more practical, modern and welcoming space for people attending drop-in sessions, support groups or outpatient appointments. Having flexibility in the space gives us the chance to increase the variety of our services. We are very excited for the developments to start and are looking forward to how we can develop services even further.”
Sarah Kerry, Day Services Manager
