When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Tough Mudder is a series of obstacle and mud runs that will push your physical and mental limits without the pressure of competition. We’re a community built on teamwork and overcoming obstacles, where stepping outside your comfort zone is the reward.
The Tough Mudder 5k is similar to the 10-mile Classic, but considerably shorter. The course only includes 13 obstacles, and the ice and electricity are left out of this course. The 5k challenge will start and finish in exactly the same place as the 10-mile Classic though. So, it will be like you are part of one big event altogether.
Looking for a bigger challenge? Click here for the Tough Mudder 15k challenge.
Tough Mudder is all about teamwork, there is no competitive element to it. It’s not about how fast you get around the course, there are no timing chips… It really is about working together. Many of the obstacles require teamwork for them to be completed. So, without each other, it would be impossible to complete the course.
Maybe you’re thinking – “well how does that work? I’m signing up on my own!”. Don’t worry, this challenge is well known for strangers helping each other and cheering for you loudly as you cross the finish line.
What you get:
Fitness: As the course is 5km, including 13 obstacles along the way, a decent level of fitness will be required to complete this challenge. However, you’re in luck! The organisers provide a free Tough Mudder training plan to prepare you for the event, click here to download it today.
Registration is now open. A tremendous challenge awaits you! Please note, you must be at least 13 years of age to take part in this event (as of the event date).
The allocation of a place is dependent on more than one factor. However, a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a clear plan of how they will raise in excess of £195 in sponsorship – don’t worry, we’ve got a lot of inspiration to help you hit your target here. By fundraising for us, you’ll be helping to make sure that when our loved ones in North Derbyshire face a life-limiting illness, they’ll be able to access the specialist care and support they need.
We look forward to welcoming you on board #TeamAshgate!
