What is a tribute page?

A tribute page is a free, lasting way to celebrate and remember someone important to you.

It’s an online space where you, your friends, and family can come together to share photos, memories, and messages. There’s no obligation to raise money—it’s simply a way to honour their memory and keep everything in one place, should you wish to.

Once your tribute page is set up, you can invite those close to you to join in. You can use it as a space to reflect, light virtual candles, share stories, or add photos. If you wish to raise money in their memory, it’s all possible through the tribute page, but there’s absolutely no expectation to do so.

Celebrating milestones

If you do choose to fundraise, there’s no pressure or limit—every contribution, big or small, is deeply appreciated. For those who wish to set a target, here are a few milestones to celebrate along the way:

Friends and family can also visit the page, share their own memories, and make donations, creating a comforting space for remembrance and support.

How do I set up a tribute page?

Do I have to commit to donating at regular intervals?

No, there’s no obligation to donate regularly. You or others can donate whenever you choose.

Is there a minimum donation?

Yes, there is a minimum donation of £5, which helps to cover admin fees associated with processing the donations.

Can I add charity shop donations to my tribute page?

Yes! Let a member of the charity shop team know and we will add the estimated value of your charity shop donations to your page.

I’ve donated to Ashgate Hospice, but it isn’t on my tribute page. Where is it?

Donations made to Ashgate on our website, in person or via one of our appeals are added to tribute pages manually and will take a short time to appear. Donations made directly through the tribute page will appear automatically.

Can I link my JustGiving campaign to my tribute page?

Yes! You can link your JustGiving and tribute page together.

How much does it cost to set up a tribute page?

Nothing, it’s free!

What happens to the money raised through a tribute page?

The money raised through a tribute page helps Ashgate Hospice to continue providing specialist hospice care and services.

How long will my tribute page be available?

Your tribute page will remain live for as long as you wish. If there’s no activity for two years, we’ll reach out to ask if you’d like us to archive it for you.

How long will it take me to set up my tribute page?

Registering to set up a tribute page is quick and easy, taking a matter of minutes. Once you’ve done that, you can set up your page at your own pace.

Can I personalise my tribute page with a specific theme or design?

There are several different themes to choose from, allowing you to make your tribute entirely your own.

Can I add videos to my tribute page?

You can add all kinds of media to your tribute page. These include pictures, videos, music, candles, thoughts, gifts, and donations.

Can I set a fundraising goal on my tribute page?

Your tribute page tracks all donations made in memory of the person important to you. You can share your fundraising goals with a post on the main page or set targets through other campaigns via JustGiving.

How can I track how much money has been raised on my tribute page?

The amount of money raised is shown on the front page of the tribute page.

How do I share my tribute page with friends and family?

You can share the link to your tribute page by email, social media, or simply by sending it directly to those who might like to visit.

Can people donate to my tribute page anonymously?

Yes, they can. Donors can also hide the amount of their donation too.

Is there a way to receive a notification when someone donates to my tribute page?

You can receive a notification via email anytime someone interacts with the page, whether that is a donation, an uploaded picture/video, a candle being lit, or someone sharing a thought.

Who do I contact if I need help with my tribute page?

How do I delete my tribute page?

Go to ‘settings’ and then ‘advanced’. Choose ‘deactivate tribute’ to delete your page. If you need help with this, contact us and we’ll help.
