Please do not leave any donations outside our Furniture Store, Donation Centre or shops at any time.

We are grateful for all donations. But we can only collect items that can be resold in our Furniture Store. If you donate items that we cannot resell, we have to dispose of these at a cost to the hospice.

We are able to collect:

  • Sofas, chairs and corner suites with their fire safety labels attached
  • Bed frames and bedroom furniture
  • Divans and mattresses in good clean condition with their fire safety labels attached
  • Dining room furniture
  • Large kitchen and electrical appliances which have a plug attached and are in good clean working condition

We are unable to collect:

  • Broken or damaged furniture
  • Soft furnishings without fire safety labels attached
  • Soiled mattresses
  • Old style TVs, video recorders
  • Electrical items with no plug attached
  • Some older style furniture e.g. corner units, glass TV stands

Still not sure if your item is suitable for sale?

You can take your donation to the Furniture Store in Hasland, where our warehouse team will check that it is suitable for sale.

How to arrange a free collection

To arrange a free collection of your furniture, please call our Furniture Store on 01246 229536. Please note that we may ask you to email photographs of your items to [email protected]

Don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation!

Our team will ask you whether you can Gift Aid your donation. This means that whatever we sell your item for, we can claim an additional 25% – and it doesn’t cost you a thing!

What we can collect
Why do you need photographs?

We use photographs to assess the condition and suitability of items. This means we can keep the cost of scrappage low.

How soon will you collect?

Our diaries are usually booked a week to 10 days in advance.

When will you collect?

We will book a day and a morning or afternoon time slot for you. Morning means between 9:30am and midday. Afternoon is between 1pm and 4pm.

Can you collect on a Saturday?

We book Monday to Friday at the moment.

Can you phone me when you’re coming?

Yes, of course.

What if you say you can’t take my furniture?

Your local council will offer a chargeable collection service.

I’m not sure if I live too far away for a collection. What areas do you collect from?

We collect from Chesterfield,  Alfreton, Bolsover, Clowne, Dronfield, Buxton, Matlock and all the places between. If in doubt, please ask.
