By signing up to this event, you are accepting the terms and conditions for yourself and on behalf of any additional person(s) that you have signed up and/or for anybody under the age of 18. Those under the age of 18 must gain the consent of a parent or guardian and all those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on the day. Ashgate Hospice cannot accept any liability or be held responsible for: Any injury, loss or damaged caused or sustained due to taking part in the event. Any activity is undertaken at your own risk. By entering into this agreement, you grant Ashgate Hospice full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the charity's aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications. If applicable, you must follow all social distancing guidelines in place at the time and undertake your activity in a safe and responsible manner. For all you keen golfers out there, come and join us on Friday 19th July 2024 at Chesterfield Golf Club to raise crucial funds for palliative and end of life care in North Derbyshire. There is a rolling start with tee-off times available from 7.30am to 4pm.

The event includes a bacon roll and hot drink on arrival. Practice your swing beforehand in the Trackman Golf Swing Studio and enjoy a range of competitions on the course.

A two-course meal is available after your round of golf to enjoy in the Clubhouse. Bid in our auction and enjoy the early evening prize giving ceremony.

Entry is £350 per team.

There is also the opportunity to sponsor a hole and promote your business from £150.

What date is Ashgate Hospice’s Annual Golf Day?

Friday 19th July 2024.

Will it be a shotgun or rolling start?

It will be a rolling start from 7:30am in 10 minute intervals until 4:00pm. These tee off times are confirmed in advance of the event upon booking. Registration opens half an hour before your tee off time.

Who can play in the Golf Day?

Anyone who would like to enter a four-ball team and support us. It is a golf competition and we do ask for golfers clubs and recognised handicaps, although if you do not have a handicap you can still enter. Those under the age of 18 must gain the consent of a parent or guardian and all those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on the day.  

Can I play if I do not have a recognised golf handicap?

Players whose handicap has not yet been converted to the world system will use their latest known handicap. Teams with two or more players not using the World Handicap System will not be eligible for the first three prizes, however there will be an alternative prize should this occur. 

What is the competition?

The competition is a Four Ball AM-AM Stableford. Two scores per hole and all four scores to count on 18th hole. Men play off Yellow Tees and Ladies the Red Tees. There is a Double or Quits game and Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competition on the course.

How is the event scored?

We use a state-of-the-art Golf Genius digital scoring system that gives real time scoring information on the day and the presentation of prizes will take place at approximately 9:00pm.   

What is the dress code for the Golf Day?

Chesterfield Golf Club operates a strict dress code and wants members and visitors to enjoy a relaxing experience – however, we operate certain minimum dress code requirements. Normal golfing attire is acceptable on the course and in the clubhouse. Golfers are, however, asked to change wet or dirty clothing after a round of golf before entering the bar and restaurant areas.  

On the course:  

Permitted

  • Smart tailored shorts or skorts
  • Ankle or full length socks of a predominantly single colour, with shorts
  • Golf shoes
  • Collared or collarless shirts designed specifically for golf and must be tucked into trousers
  • Sleeveless blouses for lady golfers

Not permitted

  • Trainers
  • Denim jeans
  •  Other sports clothing (e.g. football, rugby, athletics or beachwear)
  • Cargo pants
  • Tracksuits

In the Clubhouse  

Permitted

  • Smart casual wear is permitted throughout (including denim jeans)
  • Collared shirts can be worn outside of trousers only if designed to be worn that way
  • Sandals, including those that are designed to be worn without socks
  • Clean, smart trainer

Not Permitted

  • Faded, bleached or ripped jeans
  • Beach-style flip-flops
  • No golf shoes of any type allowed in the lounge/dining room
  • Waterproofs
  • Other sports clothing (eg football, rugby, athletics or beachwear)
  • T Shirts or slogan shirts
  • Caps

What is the general etiquette when attending the Golf Day?

Mobile phones must not be used for making calls in the clubhouse bar or restaurant areas – calls can be made and received in other areas of the clubhouse Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted in the clubhouse Changing is not allowed in the car park.

What is included in my fee?
  • A team of 4 players are entered into the competition. You will receive a hot drink and bacon roll (or vegetarian alternative) on arrival, before your tee-off.

Where does my money go?

Your entry fee goes directly towards funding specialist end of life care in the community of North Derbyshire and beyond, and helps our nurses be there for patients when they need it most.

My preferred Tee Off time is not showing on the menu. What should I do?
